Help

Something not working?

Three steps fix almost everything, and you'll reach a real person if they don't.

  1. Try Repair & restart

Open Streamlate. If the control panel shows Repair & restart, click it: it fixes most install problems by itself.

  2. Copy the errors

In the control panel, click Copy errors. It copies a short report of what went wrong. No passwords or chat logins are in it.

  3. Email us

Paste it into an email to support@dabkowski.dev, with one line about what you were doing. Portuguese, Spanish and English are all fine.

Quick fixes

Windows says “Windows protected your PC”

Click More info, then Run anyway. It appears because the installer is new and not code-signed yet. If it says Smart App Control blocked it, there is no Run-anyway button; a signed installer is on the way.

My phone can't open the chat page

Phone and PC must be on the same Wi-Fi. If the control panel says Phones can't connect, click Allow on this network and confirm the Windows prompt.

The captions don't show up in OBS

In OBS open Tools → WebSocket Server Settings and tick Enable WebSocket server. Streamlate adds the caption source by itself. Other streaming apps: add a Browser source http://localhost:8788 (1400×300).

It says “Downloading speech model…”

That's normal the first time: the speech model downloads once (from about 140 MB to 1.5 GB, depending on your PC). The percentage shows in the control panel.

Chat isn't translating

Check that the channel in Settings is right (Twitch name, YouTube @handle or a kick.com link) and that the stream is live. The control panel shows Can't reach chat with the reason if something is wrong.
